Gustavo Beytelmann brengt de jazz naar de tango kopte Trouw. Jazz- en tangomuziek hebben een vergelijkbare achtergrond. Astor Piazzolla maakte met zijn ‘nieuwe tango’ de tango jazzier. De in Parijs woonachtige (film-)componist en pianist Gustavo Beytelmann (1945) speelde met jazzmusici als Lee Konitz en Michel Portal en hij begeleidde Piazzolla op diens Europese tour. Met zijn eigen trio brengt hij de tango met de tegendraadse ritmes van de oude tango en met die vloeiende melodieën van de tango nuevo. Hij brengt niet de tango naar de jazz, wel de jazz naar de tango; op imposante wijze. En hij geeft daarbij de bandoneonist graag de ruimte.
Simone van der Weerden studeerde met een 9 in 2014 af. Ze stapte van het conservatorium in Tilburg over naar hét tango-conservatorium in Europa, Codarts Rotterdam. Deze bandoneoniste is sindsdien in tal van formaties actief en zoekt permanent naar nieuwe, hedendaagse invloeden. Die vernieuwingsdrift kenmerkt haar stijl, altijd uitdagend en een eigentijds verhaal vertellend.
Deze tango nestor en zijn muzikale muze voelen elkaar immers feilloos aan. Zij weten elkaar te inspireren.

LocosLindos is a fresh tango quintet playing a wide repertoire of tango with 5 very enthousiastic, young tango musicians. The quintet was found in 2010 when the musicians met at the Argentinian Tango Departmant of the Codarts Conservatory of Rotterdam. Their shared passion for tango was a great start for their musical adventure.

The repertoire of LocosLindos is mainly focused on the style of the renowned quintets of Astor Piazzolla and Horacio Salgán but they also plays old style tangos for dancers and more modern tango music. They also make their own arrangements and have own compositions.

Their latest album Piazzolla & Salgán has been released in 2019

Argentijnse tango en invloeden vanuit de jazz… Het nieuwe project NAOS brengt een fusion van deze verschillende stijlen tot een fascinerend geheel.

NAOS is een uniek kwartet, bestaande uit bandoneon, piano, contrabas en drums. Vier jonge musici brengen de Argentijnse tango naar een nieuwe wereld waarin de samensmelting van verschillende invloeden centraal staat. Geïnspireerd door de ‘Nuevo Tango’ van Astor Piazzolla, willen deze muzikanten een stap verder gaan en zoeken naar nieuwe klanken waarbij tango en jazz, nog meer samenkomen.
